Take Two

By Wednesday, January 14, 2015

So I know this post is a little past the original deadline I set, but with how busy I have been with winter classes, I'm going to give myself a little pass. I'm still trying to find my place again at school and manage the workload I've managed to take on.

At this moment, things seem to be looking positive. The last few weeks were rough, what with some minor mood swings and some catastrophizing on my part, but I feel like I've managed to pull myself out of it. We are drawing near the end of classes and my level of activity seems to be continuing to increase but hopefully I'll be able to work on keeping myself in check. If I don't, that's when things seem to take a turn for the worse. I'm hoping the things I've been learning in my winter class, Conflict Resolution, will help but it's all about interpersonal relationships and conflict versus intrapersonal, so I'm not sure how much hope I can really put into the idea.

I'm also kind of hoping that I'll be able to get back into my printmaking once the spring term starts up. Although I'll have five classes (what the fuck was I thinking, honestly.) one of them will be an independent study print class which will hopefully give me the time I need to blow off steam, otherwise I'm worried it'll end up pent up and I'll blow up on one of my friends or Taylor, yet again and they don't deserve that. Aside from just the excitement for my classes next term, I'm also really excited to start trying out new methods of doing things.

One of my goals/new years resolutions for 2015 was to start journaling more and to keep track of my daily tasks. So, at the start of the new term I plan to take up bullet journaling if I can. I know it would have been smarter to start at the beginning of the year, but everyone needs some time to get into things and I know for myself, if I try to start too many things all at once, I won't do any of the things I wanted to.

So, I suppose I currently have a few goals for 2015:

  1. To write a blog post at least once a week
  2. To start bullet journaling (i.e. lowkey using a planner)
  3. Continue to find myself in my art (not that this has any real limitations of stipulations)
  4. Write letters to two family members a week (which I also haven't started.. I might be a little behind.)
Well, aside from this post being a little all over the place, I definitely feel accomplished in at least one thing so hey, that's always good.

(Also, photo cred: this one nor the last photo I used on my blog are mine. I found them on tumblr but neither of them had a source link. I'm just saying because I can't take credit for them.)
